Police have arrested a man after a siege at the home of the parents of cricketer Ed Cowan in Sydney's east.
The man allegedly broke into the Darling Point unit just before 1:00pm (AEDT) on Thursday.
When police arrived they saw him walking out of the apartment, so he went back inside and locked himself in a room.
He was armed with a knife and threatening self harm.
After three hours of negotiations, police entered the unit and arrested the man.
Ed Cowan is in line to make his Test debut on Boxing Day against India.
The cricketer's father, Richard Cowan, told the Seven Network the man had barricaded himself inside.
"To have this happen has spoiled the day, but that's life," he said.
