Wally Edwards has become the first former Test player to be named Cricket Australia (CA) chairman since Sir Donald Bradman.

Edwards was previously deputy chairman and replaces Jack Clarke who retired after three years in the role.

Edwards has been a WACA board member since 1987 and a CA director for 12 years, the longest serving figure on the current board.

The 61-year-old's said his vision was for Australia to once again be the dominant force in world cricket across all formats.

An opening batsman from Western Australia, Edwards played three Tests during the 1974-75 Ashes series and one one-day international.
